Legacy Communication Training and Consulting

This course is designed to empower college faculty members with the knowledge and skills required to engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and successfully publish their findings. Through a combination of instructional content and practical exercises, participants will gain insights into the SoTL landscape, learn effective publication strategies, explore suitable venues for their work, and understand best practices for conducting impactful SoTL research.

Outcomes:

1. Define the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and its significance

2. Understand the key principles and goals of SoTL

3. Recognize the benefits of engaging in SoTL research and publication

4. Identify the stages of a typical SoTL research project

5. Identify different types of publications in the SoTL field (journals, conferences, books, etc.)

6. Develop strategies for targeting the appropriate outlet based on research focus and audience
